About this event

Across the country, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) continues to conduct arrests at or near immigration courthouses—targeting immigrants as they seek relief. These actions create a chilling effect on immigrant communities, deterring survivors of domestic violence, workers asserting their rights, and witnesses from engaging with the legal system. The threat of ICE presence undermines public safety, due process, and trust in the courts.

In this webinar, you will hear on-the-ground reports of what is happening along the border in Texas and California and beyond, as well as the impact in our communities, and what is needed to effectively respond. You'll learn more about how the ABA Commission on Immigration addresses these harms through the work at Immigration Justice Project (IJP) in San Diego and ProBAR in South Texas.

Panelists:

Deborah Mas Cabrera, Managing Attorney at ProBAR
Crystal Felix, Managing Attorney at IJP

Moderator: Michelle Jacobson, Chair, ABA COI Chair
